Hydroponic Gardening is Simple & Easy
Hydroponics is basically growing without soil. It's a more efficient way to provide food and water to your plants. Plants don't use soil - they use the food & water that is in the soil.
Soil's function is to provide nutrients and anchor the plants root system.
Getting Started - Cloning Tips
When propagating cuttings it is vital to use sterile utensils and not dip the plantlets (cuttings) directly into the clone gel or solution. Pour out the amount you intend to use into a small cup or shot glass.
Use a purified water source and fluorescent lighting to help aid in rooting and germination success.
Reverse Osmosis
A clean water source is imperative for healthy plant production. When using high-grade nutrients, it is only logical to incorporate a purified water source for optimal dilution and nutritional availability to your plants. Those that grow organically benefit from Reverse Osmosis, as untreated water containing chlorine and chloramines interfere within organic nutrients and additives.
HID Lighting
High Intensity Discharge (HID) is the preferred lighting in a garden room. The two types of HID lighting commonly used are HPS (High Pressure Sodium) and MH (Metal Halide). HPS lamps deliver more of an orange/red spectrum, which is ideal for plants in the flowering/blooming stage. MH lamps deliver more of a blue/green spectrum, which is ideal for vegetative/growth stage.
